Augment
Next up is the Augment Faction Store located in the Factions section. You get to the Augment Faction Store by clicking on the Factions button in the upper left of the main screen (Figure 191). In the Augment Faction Store there are a multitude of valuable items that you can purchase but your access to them is dependent on your Augment Reputation level (Figure 192). While the items that are most important will depend on you and your current circumstances, here are some items that I recommend looking at when you have access to them: Common Plutonium, Uncommon Plutonium, Rare Plutonium, Augment Credits, and Augment Recruits.
The most import of these items, in my opinion, in regards to the Daily Grind is the Augment Credits (Figure 195) which can be used to obtain other items in the Augment Faction Store. To purchase the Augment Credits, you will need to mine, or steal, Corrupted Data and Decoded Data on a regular, reoccurring basis. Unlike in the Materials tab section of this article, stealing Decoded Data is a good option, especially during Decoded Data mining events. However, Corrupted Data, is typically not a good option for theft due to the extremely small mining nodes which forces players to be actively resetting their node every few seconds. Although stealing is a good option for Decoded Data, a much more consistent option is to mine both Decoded Data and Corrupted Data yourself. Over time I have acquired three Botany Bays and with these I can spend a few hours mining which will last me several weeks. Look at the upper right of Figure 195 where you can see that I have 1.3 million in Decoded Data. This was after a recent mining session as described above. Once you claim the Augment Credits the reset timer is 22 hours (Figure 199).
Once you have enough Augment Credits, the most important items are the Augment Recruit VI and Augment Recruit III (Figure 195). NOTE: Some of these recruits are better than others which will be covered in another article. Figure 200 and Figure 201 show the officer shards that you can obtain through the Augment Recruit VI and Augment Recruit III options. Once claimed the reset timer for the Augment Recruit VI and Augment Recruit III options is 22 hours (Figure 202). NOTE: What you see in the examples below may differ slightly from what you see in your Augment Faction Store as the items available are based upon your Augment Reputation Level.
Although not covered in this article, Common Plutonium, Uncommon Plutonium, and Rare Plutonium may be important to you if you are still upgrading your Botany Bay as you will need these items to upgrade this ship. Although Independent Credits are a difficult resource to obtain, they are too expensive in the Augment Faction Store to be worth purchasing here (Figure 194).
