Resources

The next daily focus is located in the Resources tab under the Claim section. You get to the Resources tab by clicking on the Claim Chest in the upper right of the main screen (Figure 49). Located in the Resources tab are Reward Packs which are only available if you have purchased a Reward Pack. So, if you have purchased one, you definitely do not want to forget to claim it each day (Figure 50). To the right of the Reward Packs are Parsteel, Tritanium, and Dilithium options. The resource items located here are one of a few ways to access your tokens for each of these resources. NOTE: If you select these resource items, you will move your resource (Parsteel, Tritanium, or Dilithium) from the token form to your station repository which then makes it vulnerable to theft if you forget to shield and your station is attacked. So, it is best to leave these resources in token form until you need them (Figure 51 and Figure 52).

Gifts

The next daily focus is located in the Gifts tab under the Claim section. We touched on this briefly in the Daily Goals section of this article. You get to the Gifts tab by clicking on the Claim Chest in the upper right of the main screen (Figure 33). In the Gifts tab, you have the “4 Hr Free Chest” and the “24 Hr Free Chest” mentioned in the Daily Goals section of this article. NOTE: While the reset timer for the “4 Hr Free Chest” is 4 hours, the reset timer for the “24 Hr Free Chest” is 22 hours (Figure 32).

You also have the Transwarp Cells which you need in order to get to certain Borg systems (Figure 34). And, you have Tetryons which are required for cloaking once you have that capability (Figure 34). Once you claim the Tetryons or Transwarp Cells the reset timer is 22 hours (Figure 40).

Also, if you log into the PC version of the game you have access to a “BONUS 24 Hr Free Chest” (Figure 41) which will give you a couple of rewards (Figure 42). Once claimed the reset timer is 22 hours (Figure 43). NOTE: The “BONUS 24 Hr Free Chest” will not complete the Fortune Finder goal mentioned in the Daily Goals section of this article.

NOTE: There is a limit to how many Tetryons and Transwarp Cells that you can have at any given time (Figure 34). Compare the look of the Tetryon and Transwarp Cells claim boxes when you have the ability to claim these items (Figure 34) and when you are at max capacity for these items (Figure 35). However, you can still click on claim even if you are at max capacity but you will receive an alternative gift. See Figure 37 for the alternative Tetryon gift and Figure 39 for the alternative Transwarp Cell alternative gift.

Lastly, although it’s not a daily option, I want to explain the Loyalty Chests (Figure 44) as how these are claimed have recently changed and because the way you earn the ability to claim them is tied to your Daily Goals List. When you complete enough daily goals to claim all of your Milestone rewards you will earn a Loyalty Badge (Figure 46). Once you have at least seven of these Loyalty Badges you can claim the 7-Day Loyalty Chest (Figure 45). As a part of the 7-Day Loyalty Chest rewards, you earn one Allegiance Token (Figure 47). Once you have earned at least four Allegiance Tokens you can claim the 30-Day Loyalty Chest (Figure 48). There are a multitude of valuable rewards in both of these Loyalty Chests.

Daily Goals List

First up is the Daily Goals list. You get to the Daily Goals list by clicking on the yellow Exclamation button in the lower left of the main screen (Figure 1). The completion of each of the goals in the Daily Goals list will give you valuable rewards along with Milestone points where you can earn even more rewards (Figure 2 thru Figure 9).

For me, the Milestone point reward levels are 50, 90, 140, 190, and 260 (Figure 9). You can see the Milestone rewards that I get for each points level in Figure 10 thru Figure 14. Your Milestone rewards may differ from the examples shown here as they are based upon your Operations Level as you can see in Figure 15.

clip_image030

Figure 15: Level up for more rewards

NOTE: The rewards that you receive for each of the Daily Goals will be different for each player based upon your Operations level and your Faction Reputation level among other factors. NOTE: Keep in mind that you may not want to claim a reward if it negatively affects your Faction Reputation level as discussed in the article Faction Tips: Gaining Respected Status in All Three Factions. NOTE: Each day at midnight Eastern Standard Time (EST) the Daily Goals list resets. You have to claim the rewards that you wish to claim before the reset or you lose out on the rewards.

As far as the Daily Goals List is concerned, I have broken the list into three main types and the rest of the goals within the Daily Goals List I have categorized as minor goals. The three main types are: Mining, Hostiles, and Swarms. With just the completion of the main goal types I can achieve 255 Milestone points which is only five points shy of the points needed to achieve all of the Milestone goals. This means that completing any other Daily Goal will allow me to complete all of the Milestone rewards.

Of the three main Daily Goal types, the first type is Mining. There are two mining goals in the Daily Goals list called Miner and Excavator for each faction respectively for a total of six goals (Figure 16 and Figure 17). And there is one generic mining goal called Spelunker (Figure 18). As mentioned earlier, you may not want to claim a reward if it negatively affects your Faction Reputation level as discussed in the article Faction Tips: Gaining Respected Status in All Three Factions. I only collect the faction mining goals for the Faction Reputation that I’m currently working on; and I collect the Spelunker goal as it does not negatively affect any Faction Reputation.

These daily mining goals are typically easy to achieve; but this will depend on your servers’ particular rules, if any, regarding mining and attacking miners. On server 37, miners are protected by the server’s rules of engagement (ROE), unless they are over their protected cargo limit (OPC) or they are on a zero node. Be sure to check how your server works in this regard and adjust your strategy accordingly.

For server 37, when mining Level 2 or 3 materials, find a node that will meet your goal(s) and determine how long it will take to mine the node. Then start mining so that you will finish after reset. Ideally you will want to have a protected cargo limit high enough that you will not be attacked until after you have met your goal.

As far as level 4 or 5 materials, these are located in Deep Space. Currently on server 37, Deep Space mining is completely protected due to the limited amount of people able to reach Deep Space and due to the large number of materials required at Operations level 38 and beyond. So, you can still follow the same guidance as for level 2 and 3 materials; but you don’t have to worry about being over your protected cargo amount. Be sure to check how your server operates and adjust your strategy accordingly.

clip_image033

Figure 18: Mining Goals #3

The next of the three main Daily Goal types is Hostiles. Regarding the daily Hostile goals, there are two generic goals, both named Hostile Harbinger (Figure 19), and two goals for each faction called Warrior and Champion (Figure 20, Figure 21, Figure 22, and Figure 23) for a total of eight Daily Goals for Hostiles. NOTE: As a reminder, you may not want to claim a reward if it negatively affects your Faction Reputation level as discussed in the article Faction Tips: Gaining Respected Status in All Three Factions. Also, as stated in the article, you may want to only focus on hostiles from a particular faction, specifically for the faction whose reputation that you are currently working on. NOTE: In addition, you may want to focus on specific hostiles such as survey ships or scout ships in order to support any Faction Reputation goals that you may have.

clip_image037

Figure 22: Hostile Goals #4

clip_image038

Figure 23: Hostile Goals #5

The last of the three main Daily Goal types is Swarms. There are five separate daily Swarm goals with different parameters for each goal (Figure 24, Figure 25, Figure 26, and Figure 27). Initially you will use the USS Franklin to achieve these goals; but eventually you will need to build the USS Franklin-A and use it in order to complete these goals. As you can see from my Daily Goals list you get a 3x bonus for using the Franklin-A (Figure 24, Figure 25, Figure 26, and Figure 27).

Figure 27: Swarm Goals #4

The remaining Daily Goals I consider to be minor goals. These, in no particular order, are named: Power Creep, Prime Real Estate, Research Projects, Alliance Solidarity, Alliance Unity, Fortune Finder, Looter, Away Team Leader, Exocomp Commander, Cloaked Bandit, and Cloaked Assassin.

The easiest of these minor Daily Goals to complete are the Alliance Solidarity and Alliance Unity. You simply have to help your alliance members when help requests populate. You will know when help requests populate by the appearance of the joined hands icon in the upper right of the main screen (Figure 28). You can also complete these minor Daily Goals by contributing to your alliance thru the Alliance button located in the lower left of the main screen (Figure 28). Once you click on the Alliance button you will be brought to the Alliances screen (Figure 29). Click on Contribute and you will be brought to the Alliance Contribution page (Figure 30). You can choose between contributing Parsteel, Tritanium, or Latinum. NOTE: Contributing Parsteel or Tritanium will not only help you to complete the Alliance Solidarity and Alliance Unity goals, but it will also help you to complete the Daily Faction Reputation goal which is explained in the Daily Faction Reputation section of this article. This follows a strategy of Resource Management which will be discussed in a future article.

Other minor Daily Goals that are easy to complete are the Fortune Finder and Looter goals. You simply have to claim three of the “4 Hr Free Chests” for the Looter goal (Figure 31). However, this does require you to log on a few times throughout the day. For the “24 Hr Free Chest” you only need to claim it once for the Fortune Finder goal (Figure 31). NOTE: While the reset timer for the “4 Hr Free Chest” is 4 hours, the reset timer for the “24 Hr Free Chest” is 22 hours (Figure 32).

clip_image050

Figure 31: Gifts - 4 Hr & 24 Hr Free Chest

clip_image051

Figure 32: Gifts - 4 Hr & 24 Hr Free Chest - Reset Timer

The remaining minor Daily Goals are relatively easy to complete as well. One is the Away Team Leader where you only have to complete one Away Team Assignment. See the Away Team section of this article for more detail on Away Teams. Another is the Exocomp Commander where you only have to activate one Exocomp Consumable. Then there are the Power Creep, Prime Real Estate, and Research Projects. You simply need to complete one research project for the Research Projects goal. And, you simply need to complete one station module upgrade for the Prime Real Estate goal. By completing one or both of these goals, you will increase your power and potentially complete the Power Creep goal which requires you to gain a certain amount of power. Lastly, are the Cloaked Bandit and Cloaked Assassin goals which require you to have the cloaking capability and defeat one or more hostiles or players while cloaked.

NOTE: Remember, you will have to check your specific requirements for all of your Daily Goals so that you know what you need to accomplish for each as they will vary based on multiple factors such as Operations Level, Faction Reputation level, etc. In addition, the Swarm goals are affected by your Franklin ship strength.

NOTE: How the goals are listed in the Daily Goals list will vary. And, when you claim a goal and the list updates, the order may change. This is important to remember if you try to quickly claim multiple goals. The list may update and the order might change in the midst of clicking claim. This may cause you to accidently claim a reward that you didn’t mean to claim such as a reward that negatively affects your Faction Reputation.
