Introduction
This is the next article in our series, “Maximizing Crew Setup” and this article’s focus is on Increasing Cargo Capacity. In this article, I will take several of the recommended crew setups, focusing mostly on the bridge officers, and run them through a series of tests regarding cargo capacity. Keep in mind that your research completed, choice of ship, ship tiers, ship levels, officer levels, certain building levels, Syndicate XP level, etc. are important in regards to the outcomes of these tests. However, we will not focus as much on these items. Instead, the testing will focus mainly on how different bridge officers affect the test results in order to better understand the underlying game mechanics.
Objectives
The objective for the following series of tests is “Increasing Cargo Capacity.” There are four main areas where you can increase your cargo capacity on a given ship: research, buildings, Syndicate XP level, and specific officers with cargo capacity bonuses.
Research
Here is a list of the research that is available that will affect cargo capacity (See Figure 2). Click on the image to see a larger version.
Figure 2: Research - Cargo Capacity (Graphic sourced from CmdrBond's Research Analysis Tool)
Notice that each research option will affect specific ships. Some research affects all survey ships while others only affect specific faction survey ships. In addition, some research affects all faction ships from a particular faction. Lastly, some research only affects specific ships such as the Stella, Vi’dar, and Mantis.
Buildings
There is currently one building that offers a cargo capacity bonus; and it is the Treasury building. The Treasury offers cargo capacity bonuses from 1% at level 1 to 60% at level 60. In Figure 3 you can see the bonuses for the Treasury at level 46.
Figure 3: Treasury Building at level 46 (Source: stfc.space)
Syndicate XP Level
There are currently five Syndicate XP levels that offer a cargo capacity bonus. They are:
· Level 07 = +10% Cargo Capacity
· Level 11 = +10% Cargo Capacity
· Level 14 = +20% Cargo Capacity
· Level 29 = +25% Cargo Capacity
· Level 33 = +40% Cargo Capacity
Note: The percentage of cargo capacity bonus is based on Ops level. The amounts listed above are based on an Ops level of 52.
Officers
There are currently five officers that offer a cargo capacity bonus. They are Stonn, Two Of Eleven, Four Of Eleven, SNW La'an, and Mavery. Let’s examine the details for each.
Stonn
The first officer is Stonn; and, he is most likely the first cargo capacity boosting officer that you will receive. Stonn’s Officer Ability is a Cargo Capacity increase based upon his rank as you can see in Figure 4. At the lowest rank he will increase the cargo capacity of the ship he is on by 20% when he is placed on the bridge. At his max rank he will increase the cargo capacity of the ship he is on by 40% when he is placed on the bridge. Since this is an officer ability it is not increased by synergy.
Figure 4: Stonn's Officer Ability (Source: stfc.space)
Two of Eleven
The next officer is Two of Eleven; and, he is one of the Unimatrix Twelve officer group. Two of Eleven’s Captain Maneuver is a Cargo Capacity increase. Since this is a Captain Maneuver it is increased by synergy and not by rank as you can see in Figure 5. Without any synergy he will increase the cargo capacity of the ship he is on by 20% when he is placed on the bridge in the captain position. At max synergy he will increase the cargo capacity of the ship he is on by 50% (Figure 5).
Note: Two of Eleven has to be in the captain position with a Command and Science officer from the Unimatrix Twelve officer group to achieve max synergy.

Four of Eleven
The next officer is Four of Eleven; and, he is one of the Unimatrix Twelve officer group. Four of Eleven’s Officer Ability is a Cargo Capacity increase based upon his rank as you can see in Figure 6. At the lowest rank he will increase the cargo capacity of the ship he is on by 40% when he is placed on the bridge. At his max rank he will increase the cargo capacity of the ship he is on by 60% when he is placed on the bridge. Since this is an officer ability it is not increased by synergy. (Figure 6).

SNW La'an
The next officer is SNW La'an or SNW La'an Noonien-Singh. Don’t be confused by the different names. When you look at this officer in your main officer list or when choosing a crew for your ship she will appear as SNW La'an due to space constraints. When you view the officer detail page her name will appear as SNW La'an Noonien-Singh.
SNW La'an’s Below Decks Ability is a Cargo Capacity increase based upon her rank as you can see in Figure 7. At the lowest rank she will increase the cargo capacity of the ship she is on by 25% when she is placed in a below-decks slot on a ship. At her max rank she will increase the cargo capacity of the ship she is on by 50% when she is placed in a below-decks slot on a ship. Since this is a Below Decks Ability it is not increased by synergy. (Figure 7).
Note: SNW La'an’s Below Decks Ability only works when she is placed in a below-decks slot on a ship.
Figure 7: SNW La'an’s Below Decks Ability (Source: stfc.space)
Mavery
The last officer is Mavery; and, he is one of the Syndicate officer group. Mavery’s Captain Maneuver is a Cargo Capacity increase. Since this is a Captain Maneuver it is increased by synergy and not by rank as you can see in Figure 8. Without any synergy he will increase the cargo capacity of the ship he is on by 40% when he is placed on the bridge in the captain position. At max synergy he will increase the cargo capacity of the ship he is on by 80% (Figure 8).
Note: Mavery has to be in the captain position with a Command and Science officer from the Syndicate officer group to achieve max synergy.
Note: Currently there is only one other officer available from the Syndicate officer group; therefore, it is currently impossible to achieve max synergy.
Note: Due to the current unavailability of Mavery due to him being behind a paywall/grind wall, he was not utilized in this testing.

Note: There is currently a display error when utilizing SNW La'an on any ship. The cargo capacity displayed will be slightly more than the actual amount available. However, you will still be able to hold the correct, max amount of cargo.
Test Summary
As you can see from the test results there are many ways to combine these officers for different cargo capacity effects. Remember that it will depend on your research completed, choice of ship, ship tiers, ship levels, Officer availability, officer levels, officer synergy, certain building levels, Syndicate XP level, etc. as to what cargo capacities you can achieve. Below is a summary of the test results. Click on the image to see a larger version.
Figure 11: Cargo Capacity Test Results
As you can see from the test results, regardless of your research, but dependent upon officer levels, the best combination of available officers for cargo capacity at the officer levels utilized in this test is Two of Eleven as Captain with Four of Eleven and one other max synergy officer as supporting officers on the bridge and SNW La'an below decks.
