Introduction
As you work through your Faction Reputation levels there are three levels at which you can lock in your status (Figure 2). The first lock is at the Respected level as explained in the article, Gaining Respected Status in All Three Factions. The next Faction lock on your Faction Reputation journey is the Champion level as you can see in Figure 2.
Figure 2: Reputation List
Should you try to lock all three Factions at the Champion level? While the answer is ultimately up to you, I believe it's a very good idea and here's why:
· You get additional Faction bonuses in your Daily Goals for killing hostiles and mining
o Some of the best rewards are:
§ Mining: the repair speed ups, Faction Reputation points, Faction credits, and recruit tokens
§ Hostiles: the resources, Faction Reputation points, Faction credits, and recruit tokens
· Being at a higher reputation level for a Faction opens up purchasing options in the Faction store for that particular Faction and reputation level. For example:
o Cloaking shards for different Faction ships become available for purchase at different Faction levels
o At the Admired level you can use credits to purchase Grade 4 survey ship blueprints such as: USS Hydra, Vorta Vor, or B’Chor for the respective Faction
o At the Commended level you can use credits to purchase Grade 4 warship blueprints such as: USS Kelvin, Valdore, or K’Tinga for the respective Faction
o At the Glorified level you can use credits to purchase Grade 4 warship blueprints such as: USS Newton, Pilum, or Korinar for the respective Faction
o At the Champion level you can use credits to purchase Grade 4 warship blueprints such as: USS Enterprise-A, Tribune, or Hegh’ta for the respective Faction
· Once you reach the Champion level in a Faction you’re locked, meaning you cannot go below that level
o This is what allows you to achieve the Champion level for each Faction
Warning: Before going to the Celebrated reputation level in a particular Faction make sure you can reach Deep Space because your daily mining goals for that Faction will increase to Grade 4 minerals.

Daily Goals – Mining
You can earn Faction Reputation by completing the Faction mining objectives in your Daily Goals list. Do not retrieve any of the Daily Mining Goals from the other two Factions as this will work against you. You can still mine all materials, but do not click on the check marks for the other two Factions in the Daily Goals list.
Daily Goals – Hunting Hostiles
You can earn Faction Reputation by completing the Faction hostile hunting objectives in your Daily Goals list. Do not retrieve any of the Daily Hostile Goals from the other two Factions as this will work against you. You can still kill hostiles, but do not click on the check marks for the other two Factions in the Daily Goals list. One exception: Do not kill hostiles from the Faction that you are working on as this will work against you.
When killing hostiles for Daily Goals or just for Faction Reputation points, focus on survey ships and scouts as they give you more Faction Reputation points. Here are some quick tips:
· Pick a system that you can reach and a hostile survey ship level where you can kill enough ships before your ship dies to make it worth the repair cost to your ship
· Make sure you have the appropriate combat research completed
o This will allow you to kill more hostiles
· Make sure you have as much repair cost efficiency research completed as possible
o This will save on resources
· Here are a few good systems where you can find survey ships:
o Federation: Zosam, Dashai, Kurchee, Hyland, Holles, New Calgary, Rua Ri, New Canberra, Kor Ar’Ka, ST-9417, Sozin, Leebyrn, Alea, New Reykjavik, Rylan
o Romulan: Rowla, Yvnys, Vola, Delmas, Talvath, Stelama, Inaara, Draomn, Veisa, Ballion, Yarega, Urhassi, Kiina, Aralen, Teranth, van Vlerken
o Klingon: Ja’Corash, Dok’Vos, Zlim’kach, Szov, Inocula, Ko’Stok, Het’Tenz’A, Dohrmas, Lu’Kash, Ch’Kmulk, Wuk'Vek, Tej'Lukk
o Note: This list is not comprehensive. I have only focused on Deep Space systems for this article.
o Remember, choose a system and hostile level that works for you
· Watch out for scouts as they give more Faction Reputation points than other Faction hostiles of the same level
o Remember that the Messages you earn for killing scouts can be traded in for credits in the Faction store
§ Note: It costs more messages for credits at each higher reputation level so utilize them as much as possible before you hit the next higher reputation level
§ At the Respected level it costs 180 Messages for 350 credits – [1.94 credits per Message]
§ At the Celebrated level it costs 180 Messages for 350 credits – [1.94 credits per Message]
§ At the Admired level it costs 350 Messages for 460 credits – [1.31 credits per Message]
§ At the Esteemed level it costs 380 Messages for 520 credits – [1.36 credits per Message]
§ At the Commended level it costs 600 Messages for 570 credits – [.95 credits per Message]
§ At the Glorified level it costs 1,000 messages for 630 credits – [.63 credits per Message]
§ At the Champion level it costs 1,200 Messages for 700 credits – [.58 credits per Message]
§ As you can see it is much more efficient to use as many of your Messages for credits prior to hitting the next higher level
o Note: Try to time achieving your next reputation level to occur soon after you exchange messages for credits because when you move to the next higher reputation level your Faction store items reset. This will allow you to do two pulls back-to-back.
o Here are a few good systems where you can find scout ships:
§ Federation: Zosam, Goesting, Jera, ST-9417, Enten, Yarega, Ertalwu, Caelum, Miers
§ Romulan: Rowla, Talvath, Ril Korvas, Naalur, Ballion, Urhaasi, Elvros, Loch’Grman, Jorda, Aralen
§ Klingon: Garyb, Somraw, nuHmey veQ, Rai’Trohk, Nalla
§ Note: This list is not comprehensive. I have only focused on Deep Space systems for this article.
§ Remember, choose a system and hostile level that works for you
o Each day try to kill more survey or scout ships than your Daily Goal requirements
To better understand how Faction Reputation points are calculated when killing a Faction hostile, see the article: Faction Reputation: Calculating Officer Ability, Ship Ability, Exocomps, etc.
Daily Events – Reputation Event!
The Daily Reputation Event is a great way to earn Faction Reputation points for spending resources which you are going to spend anyway. Make sure you join the Faction Reputation Event each day only for the Faction you are focused on. Do not join the Reputation Events from the other two Factions because you will get negative Faction Reputation for the Faction you are working on. This will make it take longer to achieve the Champion level in the Faction that you're focused on. Lastly, Faction Reputation points that you earn will vary based on your Reputation Level.
Borg Refinery
You can earn Faction Reputation points in the Borg refinery. Note: The higher level your Vi’dar, the more Faction Reputation points you can earn in the Borg refinery. It is well worth your time to tier up your Vi’dar. At the max Vi’dar tier, you will earn 108,000 Faction Reputation points for your chosen Faction. Note: As your Vi’dar tier increases so does the amount of inert nanoprobes you will need for the Borg refinery. Note: Only purchase Faction Reputation points for the Faction you are focused on. Note: See the Borg Research section for more information.
You should also know that you can buy Faction credits in the Borg refinery as well. I used this technique to buy extra Faction credits to trade for the three Grade 4 Faction mining ship blueprints. Note: The Grade 4 Faction mining ship blueprints become available in the Faction store once you reach the Admired level.
I also used this technique to buy extra Faction credits to trade for Grade 4 Faction rare warship blueprints. Note: The rare warship blueprints become available in the Faction store once you reach the Glorified level. See the article: Faction Reputation: Calculating Officer Ability, Ship Ability, Exocomps, etc. to understand why the Grade 4 Faction rare warships are so important to have.
Faction Missions
Only do Faction missions for the Faction that you're focused on. Since the Faction missions give Faction Reputation points this will help you achieve the Champion level faster. Do not do any Faction missions for the Factions that you're not focused on as this will work against you. Archive these Faction missions for later for when you are working on the respective Faction Reputation.
Faction Hunt Event
For Faction Hunt Events, only focus on the Faction that you're working on. Do not participate in the Faction hunt for the Factions that you are not working on as this will work against you
See Daily Goals – Hunting Hostiles
Other Miscellaneous events
Watch out for events that will give you positive or negative Faction Reputation points for the Faction that you are working on. Do participate in the events that give positive Faction Reputation points for the Faction that you are working on as this will help you. Do not participate in the events that give negative Faction Reputation points for the Faction that you are working on as this will work against you.

Faction Reputation Based Research
There are a few research options that you should be aware of regarding Faction Reputation. These options are listed below along with where they can be found:
· Galaxy Research Tree
o Klingon Apprentice
o Federation Apprentice
o Romulan Apprentice
o Each Faction research option above has the following levels:
§ L1-5%, L2-7%, L3-9%, L4-12%, L5-15%, L6-20%, L7-25%, L8-32%, L9-40%, L10-50%

o Each Faction research option above requires you to use a corresponding Faction ship to receive the corresponding bonus
o Each Faction research option above has the following levels:
§ L1-5%, L2-7%, L3-9%, L4-12%, L5-15%, L6-20%, L7-25%, L8-32%, L9-40%, L10-50%
o For this article we will be utilizing the Pilum against a Federation target with the Romulan Devotion research at Level 10 – 50%
· Away Teams Research Tree
o Federation Notoriety
o Klingon Notoriety
o Romulan Notoriety
o Each Faction research option above has the following levels:
§ L1-5%, L2-7%, L3-9%, L4-12%, L5-15%, L6-20%, L7-25%, L8-32%, L9-40%, L10-50%
All of the bonuses listed above are calculated on the base Faction Reputation gained or lost by attacking the targeted Faction hostile. From a Faction Reputation earning perspective, you want to get these research options as high as you can as soon as you can.
To better understand how Faction Reputation points are calculated when killing a Faction hostile utilizing the Faction Reputation based research, see the article: Faction Reputation: Calculating Officer Ability, Ship Ability, Exocomps, etc.
Borg Research
You should complete the three Borg research options in the Galaxy Research tree as soon as possible. Note: You should have already completed this by the time you make Respected as explained in the article: Gaining Respected Status in All Three Factions.
These Borg research options will boost your rewards respectively:
· Prime Borg Rewards
· Nanoprobe Hunter
· Prime Active Nanoprobes Refining
Note: Completing these three research items will translate into more Faction Reputation points that you can earn through the Borg Refinery
Armadas
Armadas can earn Faction Reputation points but they are not as effective or efficient as hunting hostiles. When attacking armada targets, pay attention to the Faction Reputation points received. While you will not get negative points like when hunting the wrong Faction hostiles, you may not get any points at all.
To better understand how Faction Reputation points are calculated when killing a Faction hostile or Armada, see the article: Faction Reputation: Calculating Officer Ability, Ship Ability, Exocomps, etc.
Away Teams
With the introduction of Away Teams, you have an additional method to obtain Faction Reputation points. When completing Away Team missions focus on missions that give Away Team Credits. Away Team Credits can be earned through Assignment Success Rewards or Critical Success Rewards. Note: You will always get more credits through the Critical Success Rewards.
You will want to get your Assignment Success percentage above 90% to have a good chance of success. Note: Going way above 100% doesn’t increase your chances of success beyond 100% but it will increase the reward multiplier. The reward multiplier is a multiplier added to the rewards if the assignment has officers that push the success rate over 100%
You want to get your Critical Success percentage above 30%, if possible, to have a decent chance of winning the Critical Success Rewards.
Once you have enough Away Team Credits…
· Go to the Claim section
· At the bottom of the screen, scroll all the way to the right and click on Away Teams
· You will then see Reputation Rewards for each Faction, click on the appropriate Faction
· Then, depending on how many credits you have and want to use, click on 1, 2, or 3 chests
Note: The amount of Faction Reputation you can earn is tied to your Faction Reputation level. As your Faction Reputation increases, so does the amount you can earn.
Do not purchase Faction Reputation points for the Factions that you're not focused on as this will waste credits.
Syndicate Affiliation
With the introduction of the Syndicate affiliation, you can boost your rewards in some of the Daily Goals. For example, at Syndicate XP Level 15, Level 20, and Level 25 you get a bonus increase in your Faction Reputation rewards for some of your Daily Goals. Even at lower Syndicate XP Levels you will get bonus increases to things such as Piercing and Mitigation which can indirectly help you obtain Faction reputation points.
In addition to the Daily Goals bonus, you can earn extra Faction Reputation when killing Faction hostiles by achieving certain Syndicate XP levels:
At Syndicate XP level 20 there is a Faction Reputation Bonus. The bonus is dependent upon your ops level and both are listed below:
· Ops Level 10-19: 2%
· Ops Level 20-29: 2%
· Ops Level 30-39: 2%
· Ops Level 40-50: 6%
· Ops Level 51-60: 10%
At Syndicate XP level 22 there is another Faction Reputation Bonus. The bonus is dependent upon your ops level and both are listed below:
· Ops Level 10-19: 3%
· Ops Level 20-29: 3%
· Ops Level 30-39: 3%
· Ops Level 40-50: 10%
· Ops Level 51-60: 10%
At Syndicate XP level 24 there is another Faction Reputation Bonus. The bonus is dependent upon your ops level and both are listed below:
· Ops Level 10-19: 5%
· Ops Level 20-29: 5%
· Ops Level 30-39: 5%
· Ops Level 40-50: 15%
· Ops Level 51-60: 20%
To better understand how Faction Reputation points are calculated when killing a Faction hostile utilizing the Syndicate XP Faction Reputation bonus, see the article: Faction Reputation: Calculating Officer Ability, Ship Ability, Exocomps, etc.
Exocomps and Consumables
With the introduction of Exocomps and Consumables you now have another way to speed up your Faction Reputation gains. Here we are talking specifically about the Faction Reputation Consumables. For example, there are Consumables to boost reputation such as +100% Klingon Reputation and +70% Klingon Reputation
Note: Since these types of Consumables are of the Galaxy Exocomp type, they have to be activated before you leave your station.
Note: These Reputation Consumables do not affect Faction Reputation gained from chest or mission/event rewards.
To better understand how Faction Reputation points are calculated when killing a Faction hostile utilizing the Faction Reputation based Exocomp bonuses, see the article: Faction Reputation: Calculating Officer Ability, Ship Ability, Exocomps, etc.
Summary
Let me be clear. Going to Champion in one Faction is a huge grind. Going to Champion in three Factions is a massive grind. Although it will get a little easier for the second and third Faction it will still take time. If you you’re committed and follow the advice above you can achieve Champion in one Faction in about four months with each successive Faction taking a little less time. While it is an exhausting effort, I think it is still worth it!
This covers everything that I can think of at the moment. If I think of more tips or if you have some tips of your own that you want to pass along, let me know in the comments and I will add them to the list if appropriate. Good luck on your journey to Champion!
